FAQ

CBD is short for Cannabidiol. It is one of more than 100 known cannabinoids that can be found in the cannabis plant. CBD is non-psychoactive and has been studied to determine if there are medicinal benefits it could provide. Anti-Inflammation, stress, anxiety, sleep quality, and pain-relieving properties are among the potential benefits that have been studied.
Marijuana and hemp plants are both varieties of the cannabis plant. The main difference between the two is what the plant is being cultivated for. The 2018 farm bill regulated hemp plants to have < 0.3% THC. Therefore any cannabis plants with more than 0.3% THC would be considered marijuana. We use CBD derived from hemp (<0.3% THC) in our products.
CBD is a phytocannabinoid (comes from a plant) and interacts with our bodies’ Endocannabinoid system. Cannabinoid receptors are located throughout our nervous and immune systems and regulate a variety of functions including sleep, appetite, anxiety, learning and memory, inflammation, and pain management.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is found in all mammals and many other families of animals. While it is still being studied, we do know that it has an effect on several major processes, like appetite, sleep, mood, and memory.

There are three components to the endocannabinoid system: receptors, enzymes, and endocannabinoids, which all function whether someone uses CBD or not. The ECS is responsible for maintaining and regulating homeostasis within the body through CB1 and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors are highly concentrated in your central nervous system (brain/spinal cord) and CB2 receptors are more highly concentrated in your peripheral nervous and immune systems. Read more about the endocannabinoid system in our blog.

No, it does not. CBD is non-psychoactive, unlike THC. The CBD in our bars is full-spectrum, meaning that along with CBD, it contains other cannabinoids and terpenes including THC. However, the levels of THC are < 0.3% so you will not feel any psychoactive effects from eating one of our bars.

Even if you are taking extremely high doses on a regular basis, it is very unlikely and there are 0 recorded cases of someone overdosing on CBD.

CBD on its own will not show up on a drug test. CBD products that contain full-spectrum or broad-spectrum CBD can contain very small amounts (<0.3%) of THC. Our hemp extract is full-spectrum CBD. Thus, while it is not likely this would cause a failed drug test, there is a chance it could show up on the test, depending on how much CBD is consumed.

Most people do not experience any adverse effects when consuming or using CBD. There is a potential for mild side effects like nausea, fatigue, and irritability.
Sugar can actually be very valuable to your body after a workout, depending on the type of sugar and when it’s taken. Muscles use glycogen stores for energy during a tough workout. Sugar can actually help to replenish the glycogen store in your muscles, refuel them, and aid in your overall recovery. The sugar we use in our bars is honey. Honey is great to consume after a workout because it is slow-digesting and provides fuel for the muscles over time.

When you see a CBD product, there are three different kinds of CBD this could be referring to.

  1. Full-spectrum CBD: These products contain all parts of the cannabis plant.  This includes CBD, terpenes, flavonoids, and <0.3% THC.
  2. Broad-spectrum CBD: Similar to the full-spectrum variety, broad-spectrum CBD  includes most parts of the cannabis plant.  The main difference is that with broad-spectrum CBD, you will only find trace amounts of THC.
  3. CBD isolate: This is the purest form of CBD.  It contains only CBD, without any THC or other cannabinoids

There is evidence to suggest that full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD are more effective than CBD isolate on its own due to the interaction between the different parts of the cannabis plant.  This is known as the Entourage Effect.

The Entourage Effect refers to the increased ability to provide benefits and relief when cannabinoids work together. For example, a full spectrum CBD that contains CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids will be more beneficial than a CBD Isolate that has been processed further removing other compounds to isolate CBD.
